Challenges....

Jacob is a lot like his mom in the sense that he likes instant gratification.  He hates (not really) Christmas for this reason.  He wants what he wants....NOW!  He doesn't like to have to wait WEEKS for something he has asked for.  When he gets a little money, it's impossible for him to save it.  It is like it burns a hole in his pocket.   Anna is a lot like this too, but I blame it on the fact that she is 2 years old.  So last night Jacob decided he wanted his hair cut.  I have been telling him for over a month he needed one, but he wasn't ready for it.  Well it was too late to go to the salon, so he decided he wanted me to cut it.  Now I cut my husband's hair and I have cut Jacob's before, but that is with a pair of clippers and a #2 guard.  Easy shaved head.  This is not what he wanted.  He wanted  a "cool teenage boy" haircut.  So my dreams of being a hairdresser back in high school came back to me.  I think I did a great job, considering I have no training.  And he liked it, except his bangs.  He has always been picky about his bangs.  He doesn't want them too short or cut straight across, and evidently Mom did both!  I felt so bad, but he never did tell me he didn't like it.  That is how he is.  He tries to keep from hurting anyone feelings.  He protects his Mommy.  He is a sensitive, caring person and I like to blame myself a little for that.  I hope he stays that way forever and always tries to protect his Mommy.
